Greg, coming from a guy who drives a 32 ford with 3 pedals, I would think you would be the last person asking about foot room!

The pictures skew the sizing of the actual floor. The stock 69 Camaro in our shop has 20.25" from the trans tunnel to the kick panel. This car has 19.75" measuring from the same area. It shouldn't be an issue only losing 1/2" of foot space.

AH HA! The photo really skews the actual space... I even went back and looked twice before posting my question. But I also knew you guys wouldn't build something that was weird/wrong. Just figured others would get the same "view" I did.

And you're right about the '32 and foot room! TINY is an understatement! LOL

A buddy having a '55 Chevy built had this issue - when the shop finished the firewall and gave him the car back - there was nowhere to put your feet. He had to cut it out and start over...

It has been a while since we have updated this thread, but a lot of progress has been made on the car.

All of the floors have been completed and welded in. We also widened the rear tubs to get a little more tire under the car with out rubbing.

Fabbed a bulkhead between the trunk and interior.

Mounted the seats, steering, and pedals. By building the dropped center crossmember in the chassis, it allowed us to lower the floor in the car and we were able to gain almost 2" of headroom compared to a stock floor.

A lot of work has also gone into the front of the car. The work in the nose of was all about creating more room. The intercoolers, oil coolers, air box, etc... left little room for a sufficient radiator with in the stock core support. That led to overheating problems and drivability issues. The core support was re-designed and built with the radiator mounted ahead of it. This gave us room for 2 large fans on the back side with plenty of room to spare for the other components still to come.
