Default The New Subframe

That is a beautiful looking piece. What are the pros/cons vs. his Corvette based frames? Is it the stock track width that is the attractive point?

Just curious.

I think the main issue with the corvette frame is the bump steer.I believe it has to do with the location of the rack.

The whole purpose of this frame is to a stock replacement that allows wider front tires and give the guys with stock sub replacement parts an alternative to the stock frame without having to start over. I don't think there is any performance advantage to the sub itself, just bling factor. I felt at the time when I brought it up to Wayne, it was the last niche market for Camaro subs that had not been tackled yet. What I don't see in the pic is whether he left it with stock steering or went to a rack. I will venture a guess with the steering arms on there you are going rack.

Don't forget, PACKAGING is a HUGE concern of mine. I need ALL the space I can get for plumbing.

Somebody has to come up with new inner fenders as well for the wide tires. I would think DSE would be the first, but tooling will be a killer on that size of a part.

Is that a GT rack? I plan to use an '03 Cobra rack on mine when fabricating commences later this year.
