They would look cool with that cross hatch treatment I remember from some billet control arms.

I'm building these for a customer of B&B Classics. Billy has done a lot of upgrades to this guys '67 Chevelle 300. The car is beautiful, a very nice, clean car. It has a BBC 572 that Billy put a Hilborn fuel injection unit on it last year. The owner wanted to dress up the appearance over the sheetmetal formed stacks. I came up with this:
Lower stacks, one operation in the mill, one in the lathe

After turning, these are complete. Two flipped over to see the bottom side

Here is the top cover plates all machined, three setups in the mill including 3D machining the inlet radius

this one shows the tool marks left (totally intentional) in the inlet radius

The screens are cut on my laser. It's really a marking or engraving laser, but it will cut this 0.032" aluminum. There will be two screens in each horn with a layer of pre-filter material in between them.

Hope you guys enjoy the pics!
LOL, I was just going to ask you where you sourced your screen. Ive been looking for that in Stainless. 1/4" honeycomb?

You have a laser?

I think Billy said he got it thru Grainger. Yes, its 1/4" aluminum hex mesh.

Yeah we have a 50W laser that is mainly for marking, but it will cut thin stuff with enough passes. Took about 3.5 minutes to cut each screen out.
