Default projects

I am rebuilding the show car I built with the help of my Dad when I was young, and going the "Pro-Touring" route. I have been drag racing for the past few years, just sold my weekend driver that went 9.70's on pump gas and drag radials. My other car is a little Ford Fairlane. It is not as serious as most of the cars featured here, but here are the basics and you can decide if it has "evolved" enough to fit this site.

1964 Ford Fairlane 500
308 inch small block, semi-serious, making 350-375hp
Tremec 3550
8.8 out of a late model Explorer, narrowed, 31 spline, Traction lock, disk brakes, adapting the Pandhard bar and over-ride traction bars if possible, 7/8 sway bar
AeroSpace front discs, different springs/shocks, 1 inch sway bar

Still up in the air on wheels/tires, these cars have very small wheelwells and I don't plan on tubbing the car. I will probably go the route of 275/35/18's on the rear and 245/40/18's on the front. My current pics are of it in the garage with the engine out and an old set of 14 inch steel wheels, but at one point it was a 93 point show car. I am planning on doing Cruising The Coast and part of the Power Tour next year. I just found this site, really like it, but wondered if nice but lower budget cars still fit the mold? Interested in seeing pics, even if the car doesn't make the webpage?

Welcome to the board, Cody.

It sounds like your car fits the mold, as most all of us are building old cars to accelerate, brake, and handle at the level (and beyond) Detroits latest performance offerings.

To have your car featured, send pics and info to Scott at [email protected]
