See you all at SEMA!

Yeah -- At least I had a good excuse -- like... I'm a ps'y and don't like heat and humidity - and especially when they are mixed!

"Props" for having the courage to "come out" and own it.

You would not have appreciated this year then. The Midwest is smokin hot, literally. We're set for triple digits again tomorrow, high 90s Saturday, and a cool, balmy, 91 Sunday; when the "cold" front comes through.
I think I am going to skip tomorrow, and go Saturday and Sunday. I forgot to request Friday off, and might just go make a few bucks to cover what I eat Saturday and Sunday.

For all of you who decline to enjoy our hot rod sauna, I will do my best to bring it to you via the lens of my little pocket Nikon. I have a habit of only seeing the "big money" cars in this type of environment, so hopefully others will contribute as well.
And, hopefully, we'll entice you to start applying the sunscreen and sombreros for next year! I might move eventually, but will always try to come back for this one - it's really an awesome event, that's worth a couple/few days in the heat. The competition for SMOY, SROY, and the autocross, in middle of 6000 cars, and thousands of enthusiasts, brings the fun at all levels.
Edit: I had never been to this show, until a few years ago, when I moved here. I like variety and, even though I didn't live that far away, I had always assumed that the 72 cutoff would make it a boring show for me - NOT!

I didn't go today, but will be there tomorrow, bright and early. The pics from my camera have to be re-sized, and compressed, so I was trying to find a way to share live from the event, via my iPhone. Just using the browser it won't let me upload directly to this site ("choose file" buttons are inactive). I can easily upload them to a page on my site, but most forums ban posting links to external sites, so I wasn't sure if that's cool. I thought about posting them to my biz Facebook page (which is currently dormant), but again that would be an external link.
Suggestions?
In any case, the real pics (from me) will follow tomorrow evening...
I'm sooo ready to go roast tomorrow.
Edit: just figured out that I can hot link them from the page on my site into this thread. It's a pretty clunky way to accomplish it, but I'll try it. There probably won't be many because of how much effort it takes and how fast iPhone batteries deplete, but maybe I can give a sneak preview (if no one else does before then).

The SMOY was lite this as far as number of competitors. The Ring brothers 65 mustang was incredible. Extremely well thought out and executed with amazing attention to detail. A beautiful 69 Camaro that was Audi Lava Gray.
My battery for the camera took a dump about 4 pictures in and no backup.
If you like hot rods, the 32 Ford built by Goolsby Customs with a nickel plated flat head is amazing. Pics on facebook if you like goodguys, but none on their website.
The auto cross was spectacular, the DSE boys (and girls) were bringing it. The Ride Tech 33 squealed around the track and sounded great. My favorite was the RS boys in their c10 pickup. An incredible machine with a big block ls motor, monster size wheels and mile deep orange paint in the original style of the trucks for that year. Check it out on the Roadstershop website under projects.
It's hot but manageable. I mean, it's usually 95* and humid, so what if it is 100* and humid. There are thousands of cars to look at! Tons of buildings with a/c! No excuses!
