Yeah, could be. But if they don't show up in street/strip atire, it doesn't count. JMO

Columbus has a drag strip and Goodguys sponsors a event that weekend, maybe in the future the cars can make the trip out there, and make a few passes.

But if times don't count... does it really matter?

This thread upsets me because ever since the Grand national left the bay area i have been unable to go to it!!! i started going to it in 92 till it left and there was nothing like it ever! Its what inspired me to get into customs cars for a career and my dad actually knew the winner of the ambr in '92. since the grand national left Oak/SF, the car shows that have replaced it CAN NOT even get near the quality and beauty of cars at all!!!!!!!! im sad!!

sorry i had to vent but thats it next year im going to SEMA and GNRS regardless because i want to see the true show cars!!!!

P.S. if anyone has more pics not in the thread please post them for the rest of us to check out!!!

Marc

The new SMOY rules are a good start. In 2001 I brought the SC Nova back to Columbus and won. Here is what we had to do, park in the Pro's Pick on Sat., that afternoon they announced the top five. If you were in the top five they gave you a map and said drive the car out to Jegs for the BBQ, be there at 5:00 pm. It was about a 20 -25 mile trip ea. way, if the car did does not make it, your out. Park in the Pro's Pick area again on Sun. and then drive into the awards building that afternoon. I think if you add the autocross and 1 or 2 passes down the track it would a great competition.
Anybody remember the old Car Craft Real Street Eliminator?
I will be at the GOODGUYS season opener in Orange County with the Fairlane, they will have an autocross course there, I'm no "pro" driver but I'll do my best!

Yes, any picts??? A little chicayne video would be perfect! Pretty cool how a car that was build a few years ago...still looks fresh in its paint work and overall look.

Doug,

The autocross and strip runs would be cool. Plus the trip to National trail would cover the street driving. See if someone can take video of your runs with the Fairlane. I'm sure we would all love to see them. Your car is still one of my favorites from Colombus 07. Have fun with it.

Later,
