I worked on the fuel lines tonight and I have came up with a budget fuel line set-up for fuel injection. I purchased some nylon fuel line that is commonly used on GM EFI cars today. If GM uses them, I would think are reliable and have been used on cars for quite awhile now. I spent a total of $102 for 3/8 line, 5/16 line and fittings.

$102 fuel line and fittings
$32 99+ Corvette fuel filter regulator from Rock Auto
$12 3/8 to 3/8 push connect fitting to connect to the fitting to the fuel filter/regulator.
$75 255 Walbro Fuel Pump
$60 94-96 Caprice Tank and sending unit (salvage yard)
$8 Fuel Line rubber clamps from Lowes
I am planning on buying a new sending unit just to be on safe side. They run $120 from rockauto.

Pretty reasonable and hopefully reliable factory style set-up. If anyone has any concerns or has had problems with this set-up let me know.

There's three main concerns with using the plastic lines:

1) The proper installation of the fittings to the line (using the dedicated tool is best.)

2) Routing the lines far away from heat sources.

3) Not inducing a permanent bend by heating the tubing (i.e. the hot water trick.)

There are some connectors out there that are really nice but have not leaked down to the aftermarket yet. The parts used on the new GM cars have an o-ring on the sealing barb and a very good double security locking mechanism.

I am almost done with my power steering lines.
I am still waiting on my 11/16x18 fitting for the supply side. The hoses were made at Napa. They are made with 5000 psi hose which is overkill but they will serve just fine.
I used a metric fitting that converted to a 5/8 fitting.
They ran me right at $90

M16x1.5 fitting that converts to 5/8. This was used on the ls1 pump side.
11/16x18 supply: 27" of hose + fittings and 90 degree 3/8 steel tube.
5/8x18 return: 17" in length of hose + fittings to connect to ls1 barb on pump.

My 68 was dropped off yesterday for paint! I can't wait to see it painted.

The car has been in the paint shop all summer and in the last month they have started working on it quite a bit. I think I might see it back in a month or less.
They ended up blowing the front sheetmetal back apart and re-working for a better fit. I thought everything was lining up pretty well but I am really excited about how much better everything is fitting.

I have been organizing the garage a little bit and getting all my parts in order for re-assembly. I even got one seat recovered.
