Things are moving forward.

Thomson finished the short block so we will swap of the top end and the engine will be ready. Bran has the same engine in his Vett and on E-85 it cleared over 1000 HP.

Across town Sled Alley has a good start on the vehicle modifications. Matt and I really like the way the under hood looked and worked on Hellfire so we are sinking the dry sump tank in the cowl again. We added a little more oil volume this time. The system should be 16 quarts when we are done. We are going to make an access in the inner fender so we can service it this time.

We are filling all the odd holes in the firewall and welding up the bars that pass through the fire wall. They always rattled.

Matt should have the transmission cross member done this week.

We should have the new radiator from C&R in 2 weeks. Once we get that we can finish the engine bay.

The car is moving quickly because we have a plan and we have done it before:

Sled Alley List

Fabrication work stage 1

• Fill all the unneeded holes in the firewall and the bottom of the car
• Move the dry sump tank to the cowl area
• Make air oil separator / goiter tank (New design)
• Make trans cross member (Like Hellfire)
• Make the passenger inner fender well 2 pieces to allow access to the dry sump tank
• Rework the shelf in the back seat area
• Make dip stick hose
• Mil Spec fire wall pass through (Like Hellfire)
• Mil Spec rear pass through (Like Hellfire)
• Mount intercooler pump (Like Hellfire)
• Mount ABS module (Like Hellfire)
• Mount ECM (Like Hellfire)
• Mount fuse box (Like Hellfire)
• Move harness bar up 1.5 inches (Like Hellfire)
• Modify Detroit Speed Dash for kick up and add aluminum removable panel (Like Hellfire)
• Remake front down bars
• Modify inner fender wells to clear down bars
• Rear package tray speaker holes 6X9
• Dash 2 4” speakers
• Make ½ inch fuel line

Car comes back to my house

Stage 2

• Mount radiator (C&R is making) ETA 3 weeks
• Make air inlet tube
• Mount air filter
• Rework hood for stock hood latch
• Rework rad support for stock hood latch
• Modify exhaust to connect to new headers and old exhaust

After Stage 2 I envision blowing the car back apart to do the paint work.

Stage 3

• Repaint bottom of car and firewall
• Repaint trunk
• Repaint outside mirrors
• Repaint front bumper
• Touch up roll bar

Car back to my house to plumb it and wire it.

Stage 4

• New carpet
• New recovered back shelf

Nice work, Matt. All the mods look very clean.

Mark, is it going to have a back seat again? Great plan--thanks for sharing.

Great plan Mark. One question, is this going to be more of a street car and Hellfire be the race car??

Hellfire and JA are both street cars that can be put on the track. Charley is taking Hellfire on Power Tour and JA will be the car I'll take to events this summer.

JA is Hellfire - less Carbon front clip, smaller front tires, about 150 lbs heavier and no killer Dutchboys paint... It is also 6 years old so beating on it on track is less of a repair bill.

We have a "track car" in the works but won't be done this year.

I've always liked JA but it had some funky stuff from Reider, the wiring needed cleaned up and it needed ABS brakes.

I know it has scope creep but it should be a cool cruiser this summer.

Mark
Don't get all GM on us and keep the build top secret. I think a lot of people will be interested in that project.

OK that's a couple details.....

It will be more of a dedicated track car not an OUSCI deal.

This car is called Jackass, that one should be called Smartass after it's owner.

Hoping its a classic car...hint hint.
Glad to see you making over 1k hp this time around. Hellfire must have felt like a slug to drive. Lol.
