Mark,

Yesterday, I had a fair amount of time to read your new book. Having been a fan of your work through the years, so buying the book was only natural.

The book is fantastic! Better yet, the time taken to detail your build philosophy, eye for detail, and discipline to sensibility has made your book a real tool. I am sure many have mentioned to you before, your work makes a difference and raises the bar for build quality. Your engineering backround IMO, is what sets your work apart from others.

I have had the opportunity to view a couple of your cars throught the years. Not as close as I would liked (Charley would probably think I am a stalker) but enough to confirm I really enjoy your work.

The negative of your book? I am tearing back into my 59 Bel Air to do the work the way it should be done, not as I have completed it to this point. Looks like Power Tour for the 59 will have to wait until next year.

Best Regards & Happy Easter,

Tim

I'm glad you like the book, it was fun to do. But I think my folks liked it better because they asked me to send them a box to give out to their friends.

To everyone, thanks for the kind words. It was great to get the book finished!

Default Thanks Mark!!!

As Mark and I were wrapping up the deal on the raw material for his next project car, he was kind enough to send me a copy.

This book is a great read and it is packed with great tips and advice, it has so much more "depth" to it than many automotive books, and Mark takes the time to explain the reasoning behind many of the things done during the course of his projects.

You can really appreciate the tremendous amount of work it took on the part of Mark and Will, to put this book together.

Anyway, thanks again Mark, for the copy of the book and for taking the time to write it! (and signing it was just too cool!)

Mark and dear Lat-G community:

I'm not shooting to offend anyone or anything like that, if my question is misunderstood let me know but, what's so special about the mule? Is it some kind of first timer? Since I got here I've read a lot comments having the mule as a reference, or pictures of (as I have read in other posts) ''the mule in all its glory'', so, what is it that makes the mule so special? Anyway, Mark, congratulations on such build, and good luck on selling the book.

I don't know about you, but how many twin turbo 69 camaros do you know of?----but no; seriously, Mark's builds are in a category all by themselves.
He is a class act. Everything is engineered to perfection with each build being better than the previous. He pushes the envelope; and therefore,
pushes all of us to be better also. He is top notch! Do some research and learn....

John

PS--Also, if you buy his book, that will tell you detail by detail what makes Mule very special.

It's a fair question if you weren't 'in the know' on The Mule -- note the capitals since it's the NAME of the car...

The Mule is a 1041 hp - twin turbo - with all the niceties of A/C etc... At the time it was built it was way ahead of many - and as usual for Mister Stielows builds - it does "as advertised"... on top of being a show car - it performed. It's been in every magazine - it's been in ads - it's been tracked - it's done Power Tour - it's done - well... you get the picture.

There were many many cars started because of this car - and cars like it - Think Red Witch etc. Personally - I built a 427 SBC with 8 stacks (what the Mule had before being TT'd) because that motor was so killer... it inspired me to do something 'like it'.

By todays standards - it might not be that kool (too me it still is!) but at the time -- it was - and still is SUPER KOOL IMHO.
