I've used Keisler hydraulics for several years on my projects with great results... it is an OE late model piece that they were machining the base round to fit through the bellhousings. I'm working on a replacement for my uses once I run out of the Keisler slaves I've got on hand.

No surprise.

I sense we'll see attempts at lawsuits as well.

Everyone has competitors.... Get over it and become competitive or get your lunch eaten.

He blames "terms" changes and loss of Elite status.... YES -- that's what happens when you don't pay your bills on time.

He blames one parts supplier because said supplier had it's own credit issues - then goes on to say that he was past due to them by 300 GRAND... so yeah - the supplier probably did have a supply issue because YOU DIDN'T PAY THEM.

What a PUTZ.

Its sad but we've seen this so many times over the last decade in this business that I get nervous now anytime a vendor gets too far out on delivering. One thing I have definitely learned is that the squeaky wheel get the grease so if you've got parts way past due from a vendor and you've been more than reasonable with the benefit of the doubt... start putting pressure on them for answers. If they start blubbering with excuses its time to get nervous.

I would tend to agree, which is the primary reason I purchase the bulk of my parts almost exclusively from Summit Racing, Jegs or Speedway Motors. I get parts delivered from any of these three in two to three days.

These manual transmission places must be the worst business to have. How much money can you really make selling a badazz transmission when you have to pay someone else to make them and sell them competitively against Tremec and STILL MAKE MONEY???. Not to mention the 6 speed is a much more popular swap. Places like APT and Keilser try to sell the customer service BS, but it even isn't that great. Being that APTs employees are ex-Keisler employees no wonder its like dealing with the same company.

Now that Keisler is out of the game, I discourage service with APT too.

Give your money to someone who is more reliable.

Now makes me wonder.....what am I going to do when my Keisler slave/bearing goes bad....
Man I am on the same boat as you are. I have recently installed my Keisler slave cylinder kit and gor read of the crappy Mcleod TOB that failed,

Now I am wondering if that bearing fails, then there is no spare for it

I believe that I read a place in Michgan called Liberty Gears (not the Liberty Gear in NC that was their supplier) bought all of their TKO stuff, try them to get a few spares.

I have installed over 20 Keisler slaves in single and dual disk applications... 500 to 1000+ hp... I have never had one fail.

They were using an OE application slave-- late model Camaro or Mustang if I remember correctly so as long as you set up your stack height properly to match your clutch application heights (and account for some wear) you should get years of solid use out of that slave.

We used to deal with Gene years back and never got the full story of why he left or where he went but now more answers are coming out. Reading through Shafi's FB listing it does sound like he sold Liberty his jigs, info, etc on his modded TKOs so perhaps they are also reproducing the modified slaves. I'm just planning on reverse engineering it so I can cut them here for my cars.... I've got a hydraulic shop that I use to make lines so no headache there. We use them with a 3/4" Wilwood master and end up with a late model clutch pedal feel even on 1000+ hp blown big block dual disk applications.
