Default Trans status t56

I would like to ask for a bit of advice from the gearheads on this site, I ordered a t56 trans aprox 2 months ago from a vendor and haven't received anything, also steering colum and stainless works headers. I called the company that the trans is coming from and they did not know what orders went to whom. Is the t56 on backorder, I paid the vendor for all the parts 7g aprox and haven't seen anything. Should I tell him to pound sand and request my money back, I don't have a problem paying ahead but would like dates instead of excuses when I call him. Thanks for your help

I have recently spoken with a Tremec Techincal rep on another issue. The T56's have been delayed due to shifter availability. Tremec subcontracts the shifters and their vendor has had issues producing T56 shifters.

Someone just today at the Goodguys told me his Magnum T56 had been back ordered recently 3 months. So your deal sounds possibly normal, but you have other items on order you mentioned.

I've seen multiple occurences where the T56 Mag is on back order. If the rest of the stuff hasn't been delivered, I'd play hard ball.

I do not know which company the vendor ordered the tranny through, but American Powertrain was suppose to be receiving a shipment on the 28th, or shipped on the 28th, don't remember. I figure our Magnum for "PT-Blues" is still a couple weeks out.

Just so everyone is clear, the vendor the OP is referring to is not a current Lateral G vendor. That is probably a decent clue as to who it is to most of you.

I'd recommend verifying with each manufacturer that the orders have been actually been placed.

Inquiring minds want to know... Are ALL the current vendors listed at the left?

The one I looked for is not there.

Yeah... Lat-G seems to be a bit more on top of these issues and reactive than other sites I frequent. I just want to say I appreciate that.

A little homework and I figured it out. I found several threads with a quick search using the right keywords.

I will be sourcing a cooling system and upper control arms elsewhere than where I have gotten verbal quotes. That's all I can do is spend my money elsewhere to avoid the pitfalls... There just is not enough money in my world to throw it to chance when there is a history like this.

FWIW I highly recommend American Powertrain.

I'm going to go clear some space in the garage and start my th350 ---> t56mag Swap...today!
