Default My new 69 project

I recently drove from NC to Nebraska and picked up this 69 (X66) project for my wife. It was her 40th b-day present. Now comes the fun. The car is an original 396 4speed car originally bought in NEB and has been there for past 40 years (August born car).

The plans are:

semi-stock, semi pro-touring.
Car will be lowered with Hotchkis front and DSE rear leafs, DSE tubular uppers, Baer brakes and 18" wheels.
Interior will be mostly stock, except MAYBE aftermarket dash. Wife has to decide.

Engine: 396
Trans: T400 (wife wants auto). I will continue to try and convince her to go manual, but not working so far.
Rear: Original 12 bolt, 3.07 gears (tru-trac)
Going back with original Glacier blue paint and blue interior
Leaving it as a spoiler delete SS396

Nice score. I'm kind of jealous of the shape of that shell!!

My vote would be to leave the spoilers on.

Solid project, I agree with keeping the spoiler.

Thanks for the comments fella's. I love my shop. The floor is filthy, but since the floor has epoxy coating on it, it cleans up really easy. I still need to run my air lines though. I've been saying that for the past year.

The car shell and floor, etc is very solid. Lower rear quarters have some issues, but I dont think I'll have to put full quarters on. I plan to get it media blasted this month, then I'll know.

The car did not come with a spoiler. It has original trunk lid and never had a spoiler on it. I just hate to drill holes in a lid that has gone 41 years as a spoiler delete optioned SS.

Nice looking project. I hope it is as solid under the paint as it appears.
I like that you are leaving the spoiler off. While they look good with them, they also look good without.
