Default 1st Gen convertible roll bar?

I need to install a roll bar in my 69 convertible, I see them all the time for coupes but nothing for verts. I want it to also help in adding rigidity so it might need to be a 6 point but I dont want it hinder as much as possible getting in and out. Any photos or ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

You should go to a shop that specializes in custom chassis and cages and get one made for your car. The quality is usualy better than you are going to get from a roll cage kit and It can be made exactly like you want it to be. My custom 6 point chromeoly cage was $1200 installed, and he did all the custom touches I asked him to do.

In my case, my installer used a S&W 8-point and modified the rear legs to go through my seat back. In my case a two seater is OK. The improvement in rigidity is amazing. ANyway, as you can see, there are several approaches. I like the upgrade.

71Nova, my problem is where I live in Washington there are no custom shops. The closest would be Spokane or Seattle and than I would not know who to go to. If someone could reccomend a place or someone that would be great!
Rick, Do you have pictures of your setup? Maybe I can get enough of a idea on how to modify one to my needs.
Thanks,
Mike

What's your email address? Can't post as everything was lost when hobbystage went away.

Central Washington, Pateros 1 hour north of Wenatchee. About 3 hours from Spokane and 3 hours from Seattle. No one I know of around here I would trust. Heck pro-touring here is a set of kybs and 17" wheels.

weld 2 pieces of pipe together, side-by-side (in the shape of the roll bar of course), then weld on a flat piece of steel on top & bottom between the pipes. grind smooth & paint. it'll make a nice oval shape with a factory look as opposed to traditional large diamater roll bar dragster look.
