Default 69 firebird rearend question

Got a 69 bird that came with a 250 motor and 3 speed manual on the floor. I have an aftermarket front clip and now hunting for a new rearend. Mine is a 8.2, I'm looking to up grade. I got one quote for $2200 before shipping and taxes, its for a moser 12bolt complete. Is there anyone in the bayarea CA, that I can go to to get some more qoutes from? My plan is to run a GM motor with<450hp. Thanks in advance. Dennis

I think $2200 is a good price for complete but if are running 450hp, you can go to Jim Dyer in Stockton and buy a nice 12 bolt from him for about $1500 -1800 that will work just fine. He has them right there on a rack and you can take it home with you. I bought one from him that has held up fine with Moser axles and 3.73 posi.

Default 69 rearend

Thank's for the reply, I gave him a call and he has a built 12bolt for 2200 right now. Not bad price and I can drive to pick it up. After talking with him for a little bit he said I could run a 9in for about 500 bucks less. My wheels are spinning now. Also waiting to here back from another guy, but it would have to be sent by mail. I like the idea of having it right when it's payed for!
Thank's again for the reply

No problem, anytime Dennis, glad I could help (a little). Jim is a good source of knowledge on these old GM cars isn't he.
