Default rear suspension problems

anyone here ever have trouble installing their leaf springs in a 69 camaro with a DSE mini tub kit??? I have my rear end shortened 2" per side (I have a stock 10 bolt 8.5) my rear wheels are 18X12 with 6.125 back spacing and when I bolt my wheels on the tires touch the leaf springs???? I loosened everything off from the leafs and raised the diff off of the leafs and pulled the leaf springs together inboard away from the tires with some racheting tie downs and bolted everything down again. With a 1/4 spacer between the rim face and axle face I have barely 1/2 of clearance between the tire and leafs!! What am I doing wrong???? Someone please shed some light on this before I lose it!!!

you need offset shackles and you need to cut factory leaf spring mounts off and use clamp on/weld on mounts to push mounts in

you used the offset shackles?, the new perches are probably not inboard enough? if you take strap of leaf springs, are they being pulled out by the new perches?
also if you did the whole kit, the wheel may not even fit in the wheel well properly, and need a spacer to center it in the wheelwell.
what i would do is take rear end out of car, place wheels in center of wheel well, then measure between the mounting flanges on the wheels and compare you the rear end width.

335s will rub the leaf springs unless everything is perfect! Get some wheels spacers.
