Default 70 Firebird Formula LS engine swap

Hi guys, I'm new here so please bear with me as I'm sure this is stuff that has all been rehashed on this site many times before. I have sean differeing stories on puting an LS into a 2nd Gen F-body. I've had many different engines in my firebird over the years, and the last one was a small block Chev, and those are the towers currently installed on the crossmember. They are the short wide towers. The engine is in the same location as if it were a 70-72 Camaro. Does anybody know if you can bolt an LS in without cutting the crossmember and moving the engine if useing a 2000 Camro pan? I would not be totally adverse to moving the engine back if neccesary. If so which mount has been used. I have access to a set of LS conversion plates that use the Energy short wide mount.

If anyone out there can point me to a detailed 2nd Gen LS swap I would appreciate it.
