This really isn't "big" news for those that follow Saleen news. The old Saleen production facility and parts business here in Cali reduced down to a skeleton crew about a year ago. Not long after the Saleen Store in Irvine closed. Considering the that the ASC and Saleen facilities are only a few blocks apart out here, the consolidation makes sense.

I read somewhere that Steve Saleen is no longer involved with Saleen Motorsports (?). Could me why they're liquidating/parting out.

Steve left a little over a year ago, was original tied to a auto company that was suppose to import Chinese cars, that didn't pan out. He's now started a new company http://www.smslimitedusa.com

Some think (me included) that new company is a way for him to add the "saleen" treatment to other manufactures cars. Something he probably couldn't do at Saleen, Inc due to their close ties with Ford.
