Default Friends Stang

My buddy bought a 69 Mustang a couple months ago and finally got it tweaked enough to not be embarrassed to drive it! It had a Mach 1 scoop, that along with the rear wing, were both painted Red?? Red Mach 1 stripe(not too bad),the wheels were old school centerlines and the exhaust was horrendous looking. After changing all that, wetsanding and rubbing, it looks pretty sweet. He always wanted a Boss-9 so thats the reason for the hood scoop change. There is the possibility of actually putting a Boss-9 motor in it, but I'm trying to talk him into twin turbos on the Cleveland thats in it! It was a perfect scenerio, he got a pretty good deal on it, because the way it looked, and with some vision and a little work it looks great! I'm trying to talk him into going with the full PT treatment and I think he's leaning that way, he just wanted to make it presentable till he figures out everything he wants to do.

Since I'm pretty much a Chevy guy, Anyone with suggestions on suspension etc. for Mustangs would be appreciated.

We got our two cars out to the local Coney today where we go to lunch a couple times a week. They have pictures of cars on all the walls and wanted our two to add to the collection.

I'm home, being a couch potato, watching David Blane hang upside down so I thought I'd do something productive Enjoy...

Might want to show him StreetKing's Stang. I think that is about as close to perfection in a Mustang as you can get.

Looks like a great starting point for a PT Mustang.

Default Mustang Suspension

Take a look at our site, www.totalcontrolproducts.com
we have coil over conversions front and rear, subframe connectors, rack and pinion systems, basically everything you would need to transform the handling of the car. Most everything we have is bolt-on, and won't require fabrication, cutting, etc.

First off, great looking cars.
I've got my car fully equipped with the stuff from Total Control Products that FreddieCougar is pushing. Have your friend look into that. Along with big brakes, and a Hydraboost, it's like driving a modern car in terms of handling and stopping. On an trackday a month ago, I had no problems keeping up with a Nissan Skyline.
I like your TT Cleveland idea. A Boss 429 engine won't fit between the standard Mustang shocktowers, the Boss 429 had the towers moved 1" outward on each side to make it fit.

Here's an picture of my car for inspiration...

Have a look on my fquick site for more images.

Very nice! I'll definately make sure he sees this. Actually I think he just joined Lat-g so now he can check a lot more stuff out. I know about moving the inner fenders for the Boss engine. I think Dynacorn is either making or going to make replacement inner fenders just for that purpose. I've heard those engines are not that great for street use, any thoughts? Not to mention, to have a good one built will set him back about $25K!

Thanks! The street Boss 429 was undercammed, and undercarbed. The Boss 302 actually had a bigger carbureator! Because the Boss 429 was designed as an race engine, it needs rpms to, which makes it a hassle on the street. Same goes for the Boss 302. But the Boss 429 is a Hemi, so with the right cam and carb, it should make a lot of power. Just remember that most parts in a Boss 429 is unique to it, so that = expencive.

That's a nice looking mustang. The exterior looks good the way it is! I agree with upgrading to TCP front suspension and rack & pinion, also look at their G-bar rear suspension.

May want to check out JME enterprises pro series suspension system. Looked to be a pretty slick setup.
