Default Transmission help needed !

Ok, you guys are the experts so I wanted to pick your brains.

I am doing a motor swap in my Regal and I have a brand new Turbo 400 to put in it (it was free).................now......the car is a column shift car but I am going to convert it to a floor shifter.

Where or what kind of low profile shifter can I use ? I am building a custom console (well the whole interior is custom) and I want the shifter to side as close to the floor as possible.

The other reason I want to go to a floor shifter is I am putting a steering column out of a 96 Tahoe in the car and the shifter isn't even close to working.

Thoughts ? Opinions ?

Help ?

The Hurst Quarter Stick is probably the lowest profile shifter available. Otherwise, you can try a street rod style "Gennie" or Lokar shifter that bolts to the trans case, then cut a hole in the floor and shorten the handle.
