painting radiator

Im looking for info/process to paint a radiator. What would be the best way to turn a Ron Davis radiator low gloss or flat black. Is it as easy as prime and paint? Does the surface need to be etched? Would you paint the fins of the core as well? Any one with pics of one done, appreciate any info you may have- Thanks Rich
