Question Looking to Do up my old 4th gen Nova

I Own a 78 Nova I think I want to make it Have a Race car Style to it with Big meats at all 4 at least a 255/60-18 or better. A similar look to the pro-touring cars. Is this possible? Since I have very little knowlege of suspensions and now I am Laid off and have little money to spend the car is pretty beat up but I already have new quarters and rear section of fenders. I also need new Floor pans too. I am looking at spending 5k or under. Is this possible?

P.S. the motor and trans are good in it

If you do everything yourself, I mean EVERYTHING, and be patient deals will come along. Swap Meets and craigslist are your friends... look for a thread titled MuttStang. Its amazing what he came up with...

EDIT:

Here is MuttStang:

no body work, good paint and lots of free stuff and you'll make it by a thread.

do plenty of research and do everything you can yourself. shop anywhere you can find a bargain. I would also say figure out your game plan ahead of time and stick to it. changing things midway costs alot more money. Most of all just have fun with it.
