I just purchased a wayne dues front subframe with the C4 set-up. I need to purchase some coilovers for it. What kinds are available to me? I'd like a good shock that can be run on the street, but more for the track.
any suggestions?
I have a CD from Popular Hod Rodding's coverage of the Mule build. In it, it states they used 14 inch extended length shocks with 10 inch Springs. Shocks were QA 1 brand.
you first need to get the ride hight set where you want, check to make sure you use the right wheels snd tires, check for clearance issuses, once the suspension is where it needs to be measure the coil over mount distance, this distance will be your shocks mid compression distance, you will have to check shock manufacturer's dimentions for that (ext. length - comp. length / 2 = mid length)

I'll add that as valving goes you the driver will probably be the best gauge as to what that should be, so get adjustable shocks, and as far as spring rate you will need to know your front end weight so that you can calculate the spring load at ride hight, the good thing with coil overs is that you have some ride hight adjustment but don't get too far off that shock mid point, the stiffer the spring the less compression travel you can get away with, to a point!
Well you can copy what others have done without all the info about a CUSTOM application or you can go through and do it the right way for your car
I don't get it, what more info should I need? It's the same sub with the same suspension I'm going to be running. Now I'll just have to tweak the details to fit my car right.
