I gave up on the ASE stuff years ago. Consumers don't really understand what it means, many managers don't really care how many certs you have and most importantly, a person with an ability to read and study books and not be able to wrench their way out of a paper bag could pass the tests and be an "ASE Certified Master Tech" without ever having touched a car. But don't let that stop you from taking the tests.
If i was in Vegas for SEMA I don't think I'd bother interupting the show for a test. I did that during Super Boat races in Key West one year.
