Centerforce DFX or McLeod RST/RXT

As the snowball tumbles down Mt. Everest (Where is the gun to my head smilie) My current Centerforce dual friction isn't going to cut the cheese. Since I don't enjoy tearing my car apart any more than I have to, who is running a DFX? I've heard they chatter frequently? I can actually reuse the pressure plate from the DF and the DFX clutch is only $275. It's rated to 650ftlbs.

Going to the McLeod twin disc is more than likely what I'll do but it's 2.5-3 times the money. The RST is rated at 800ftlbs and is organic and should be quiet and have nice feel. The RXT is supposed to have similar manners but has ceramic plates and is good to 1000ftlbs. It's supposed to be more durable in a race enviroment. There is only $200 seperating them. Who is using these and do you like them?

Any other options I should consider?

my research led me to the rst, but its still sitting in the closet. reviews seemed to be really good. i picked up the 6912-07 for 579 shipped, but that vendor went away for a while and just came back to a lot of p-offed people with a slightly different name.

I'm runnign teh older street twin that uses it's own specific flywheel and I think was rated to 800 or 1000HP. It's worked very well behind my 700ft-lb 540 in a chevelle that likely weighs around 3800lbs and has given me no issues whatsoever. I am using a Mcloed hydraulic throwout bearing and willwood compact master and the pedal effort is very light for the amount of holding power it has. It has never shown any hint of slip or chatter.

I did have some issues with the TO bearing leaking where the lines enter the housing. It was a very loose fit with a lot of slop. The leak wasn't major but it was weaping and making a mess inside the bellhousing. I sent it back to Mcloed over the winter and they replaced the housing and lines (one was worn a bit form contacting the clutch) for free. Excellent service actually.

Sounds good guys, I'll go with the McLeod. If it was just a race car then the DFX would work but this dual purpose stuff makes it tougher and more expensive. I want to bake my cake and eat it too, the RXT/RXP it is......

Go with mcleod. They have got a great product and service. My first street twin died after 2000 miles. They said that I went beyond the hp rating, but offered an upgraded twin clutch at a discounted price! They really stand behind their products. New clutch now has 14000 miles and can really handle the abuse.

i run the RST in my 65 cobra with a 545 big block. Better the stock pedal, smooth engagement/disengagement, and no chatter whatsoever.....would definitly buy again or recommend it.
