Default quick release steering hub

Has anyone ever put a quick release on a ididit column? Ive got a ididit shorty column, 3 bolt sparco steering wheel, and a sparco universal weld on quick connect hub. I cant come to comprehend how this is possible maybe with some cutting of the column and fabbing up a collar or something to join the two together. If anyones gone through this process or has any good links/info could you pleaes send it my way! Ididit and sparco werent any help!

I actually have a quick release for an ididit or flaming river column, it has a billet plate that is custom made to cover up the "guts" of the column that show behind the quick release part, and it all just slides on and bolts on like a normal hub. Im probably going to sell it but its about a $120 dollar hub and a $50 machined part... its the only way to do it that ive seen..

Don't feel bad.

I just installed an NRG short hub (SRK-170) and Quick Release 2.0 hub on my 2nd gen Camaro for my Tenzo R Turismo wheel, and NRG didn't have a clue how to hook up the horn. They asked me if I figured it out to send them pictures. I'm debating if I should send them or leave them looking like idiots.

Ya gotta LOVE vendors who sell things but have NO CLUE how to install them.

ya its pretty bad. I've even bought a grant quick release thats is the slide on style. Its for the gm spline which an ididit is according to jegs & ididit it would fit. But 1 of the 2's splines are messed up or not correct. It seems like it wants to go, but just wont slide down. Maybe some heat would open it up enough. But regardless grants 3 bolt pattern is different than my sparco wheels figures they make there bolt patterns all different so you have to buy both there hub and steering wheel.

thats what i have is the grant hub, it fits right on my column. Does your sparco have the standard momo style bolt pattern? You can get adapters..

Do they make a sparco and i believe its the same as momo 3 bolt to grant 3 bolt? My grant is a 3 bolt pattern as is my wheel. But grants 3 bolt pattern is not as big as sparcos on my wheel. So as of now unless they make an adapter or i drill and tap new holes it wont work.

Tomorow at work im going to heat up the splinned collar on the grant quick release and see if it fits on first. Ive counted, has same amount of splines as my column so not sure why it wont slide on. If i can get it on, im going to measure out my bolt pattern on my sparco wheel and then drill out the grant hub to match and tap some treads in. Should work if all goes well, just have to be pretty exact otherwise the steering wheel wont be mounted center

well i got the grant hub to work in a way.....now just have to figure out how to transfer a triangle (the sparco steering wheel 3 bolt) to a circle and have it centered I would take it to machine shop but there isnt any good ones i would trust here in olathe, KS. Guess its time to bust out the geometry book from higschool......and a few years ago i thought it was a waste of my time to learn that stuff! stupid me

well maybe you can take the sparco hub and put it wheel mounting face to mounting face with the grant one, and center it up that way.. and then just mark your holes on the grant through the holes in the sparco hub..

I used a snapoff hub on the ididit in the OLC - no problems. We've had both a Momo and a Sparco wheel.
