HELP! off topic, NEED ADVICE, head on collision, ins. co. not doing a thing.
Hey guys,
I have to vent!!! I was involved in a head on collision on 06/23/2010 (I was not at fault; other driver crossed onto my lane traveling in the opposite direction) AS of today 07/28/2010 nothing has been done to settle my claim ! I keep getting the run around from both sides, even though the other drivers ins. Co. has accepted 100% fault. I have run out of my rental car coverage and I do not have a second car to drive. My fear is that I will be forced to drive my Medusa every day until my claim gets settled, F**K !!! I really don’t want to do that.
I would appreciate any advice that YOU (my buds) might have for me ! I’ve never had to deal with this type of matter, because I’ve never be in an accident that had my car totaled. PLEASE HELP A BROTHER OUT!
Thanks n God Bless
Hec

I was in a similar situation earlier this year although my was not totaled (not driveable though). I had full coverage and had MY insurance company pay the claim (minus my deductible). Eventually the other insurance company paid me back my deductible and my insurance co.
I needed the car fixed right away as you do.

your insurance company should be handling it for you. What are they telling you?
Exactly! You need to lean on YOUR insurer to do the legwork, this is what you pay them for!

Keep renting the vehicle and send the other insurance company the bill. Show up at you insurer's office face to face and demand this be resolved. Your insurance company should be doing all the leg work.

This is 100% correct !! Your agent needs to step up for you..Your insurance company needs to represent you ,you should'nt have to hire a lawyer. Start pressing your agent!!
In the insured world.... YOUR insurance company should be handling ALL the details of your claim - and paying / providing what is "normal and customary". When all is said and done and you "settle" --- THEY will subrogate with the other party. It is not your job to deal with them your insurance company will handle all of this...
Time to kick YOUR agent and YOUR insurance company in the arse.
