Default No power steering - Bleed and Air ?

Have a LT4 in my 69 camaro. Running the corvette front accessory set-up. Reservior is on the passenger side. Have a -10 line going to the pump which is mounted on the drivers side. Off the pump is a metal line converted to -6 high pressue power steering line which goes into the steering gear (port toward the center of the car). Out of the steering gear with a -6 line to a cooler mounted down low in the front of the car. -6 out of the cooler to the reservior.
Filled with fluid and turned the wheels back and forth ~20 times. The fluid dropped a little. The fluid in the reservior is higher than the pump and lines. Started the car and did about 10 times. Fluid didn't drop. Put the ca on the ground and tough to steer. I disconnected the joint where the -6 from the steering gear goes into the cooler. Plugged reservior side which had fluid coming out. The other side from the gear didn't have fluid. I then loosened up the high pressure line going into the gear until I had fluid. The fluid in the reservior did come down some.
I'm debating on what to do next.
- Can't gravity bleed through steering gear, correct? Thus the back and forth turning of the wheel to get air out.
- Connect return line back up. Then open up the port attached to the outlet of the gear until fluid comes out. Repeat wheel turn bleed proceedure.
- find pressure gauge and fittings to attach in line to gear.
The pump and gear are new.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kevin
