Default is this the stock cutout for my manual (69 camaro)

Pulled my automatic and thought I would have to start measuring where I would have to cut out for my manual shifter. I bought a tko600 that uses the stock cut out..so after pulling auto tranny out i see this welded in plate..I guess this is where I need to cut out? Is the hole supposed to be rectangle like that?

You'd probably have better luck with a picture from further back.
