Default I'm trying a new place for GM parts.

Hi I tried to order a steering speed sensor for my 99 Tahoe from GM parts direct 3 times and they didn't process my order because of a problem on their end. So I tried another place for GM parts. I just ordered today so we'll see how it goes. The big difference is GM parts direct wanted $20 shipping and these guys are shipping for nothing through UPS. I don't know about you but $20 for shipping is pretty heavy for this small part. Here's the link to
BestGMparts.net I don't know how their prices are for shipping other parts but the cost for the part was the same as GMpartsdirect. It might be worth a look. Wayne

GMpartsdirect has some good prices, but their shipping is beyond stupid. If you order two of something that would fit in the same box, you still pay full shipping for two items, not a combined rate.

I understand why they do it, to make up for their parts costs being too low. Problem is, once you add in the higher freight the savings gets much closer or even disappears. In my case, when I saw the freight charges and called them on it, they told me they do not combine shipping so I ended up ordering from someone else. The parts prices were good but the freight was a rip-off, so the whole deal became negative to me. I wonder how many sales they lose with this way of doing business.

Speaking for myself, I have gotten to the end of a purchase from them only to cancel due to the ridiculous shipping costs. I presume they are pulling people in with the low prices, and probably sell more than they lose because of it.

Wayne,

I recently needed to replace some dealer items on our Yukon. My local dealer wanted $950.00. I looked online and the price was going to be under $600.00 even with (crazy)shipping. I called my local guy back wanting to keep business and my city if I could. I gave him a link so he knew I was not making it up. He came within $20.00 and I got the parts that day. It was 40% off and he said they still made 15% margin

I've used this for stock parts with great results in the past. The Contact I used was Gene Culley

Seconded. I bought some stuff from Jeff today. He works the Parts Counter at Day Chevrolet in Georgia and is authorized to give great prices by his management.

I forget, but I want to say either Jersey or Texas (couldn't be more different huh? ) and that could even be wrong

They are good on the phone also, not just online. I've mainly done my business with them over the phone
