Looking to replace my 2nd. Gens' door hinges w/ new

I've been told the "good" ones have some kind of brass inserts?

I can't speak specifically to the 2nd gens, however it seems the best hinges you can find for a 1st gen are OEM hinges with a rebuild kit. The kits are pretty cheap and easy. It might take you an afternoon to finish.

If you have a full set of hinges already, that's the path I would go down.

Probably gonna have to get on the phone and speak to a couple places that sell them.

A quick google found a few places that sell them.

The pictures of the hinges posted on Classic Industries looked like they might have the brass bushings.

You got a pic of your hinges? It be fun to see hinges that are too far gone to rebuild..... that would make me scared to see the rest of it.

Just rebuilt mine (old Vette)... the hinges weigh more than the door.

Good luck.

I used the Classic Industries hinges on my Firebird. Five years later, still working fine. Good luck-
