Just wanted to know if anyone has used the C5 or C6 front calipers for the rears?? I'm sure that the ones that match the front would be fine with what I'm going to use the car for but I have a line on 4 of the fronts so thought what the heck I would see what the brake gods thought. I will be using stock F body drum spindles with Kore adapters (may upgrade to ATS AFX spindles). I am going to call Tobin at Kore to see what he thinks. I want to have the same size rotors front and rear also. I want to machine off the Corvette logo and then have them powder coated or hard coated. Thoughts, ideas, tell me I'm crazy??
I did not think about that, but here in IL they just let us go nuts "We don't need no stinken inspections" . Of coarse if they did do inspections there would be far less 80's Buick Celebritys on the road. No disrespect to the Buick camp
The C-5 and C-6 front caliper are identical except the C-6 units have more bridge support and will not spread as much under hard use. As far as using front calipers on the rear I suspect you would have too much rear bias. The C-5 rears
with the matching Corvette rotors have a hat section that allows for an e-brake. I had some spacers machined to get the hat section lined up with the brake shoes. My Impala has C-6 front calipers with C-5's on the rear. The rotors are DBA Corvette units that Tobin modified for my 5x5 hubs. He made the front hubs too so I could keep the stock track.
