Default Speed Tech plus AFX spindles or AME

I sent a PM to Blake already but maybe someone else can also chime in on the topic.

I've been looking into different front and rear suspension options since before I even bought or started this project. Primary considerations for the front are AME and Speed Tech. One item I'm considering as part of my decision is the ability to run ABS. I would think with the AME setup, this would be pretty easy. I think in order to have the option on the Speed Tech setup, I'd need the AFX spindles. After that, it's plug and play for the front. Anyone else know anything about this? Are there other benefits to this setup over the C6 components of the AME?

Beyond that I have some concerns about ride harshness and noise on our lovely metro Detroit roads with Delrin bushings. I would think the OEM rubber mounts on the C6 arms would help this. Anyone have any experience with either subframe and ride harshness or noise issues? The C6 arms appear that they wouldnt absorb much anyway, but just curious.

Thanks for any input in advance.

if you take cost off the table AME. If you want similar performance and can weld and are on a budget, then go OEM frame, ATS tall, coil over conversion, stock lower with bushings and adjustable uppers, with a Lee box.

I have a budget, but first must determine how each setup fulfills my goals. I want to be able to track / auto-x the car and also finish a Power Tour in comfort. I also plan to drive it frequently during good weather. Once I am able to define how well each setup fulfills my goals, I will decide based on that and cost which way I want to go.

Do you have experience with either setup? Is there a car out there with the OEM sub setup you described?

Yes One lap camaro has this setup. This is also the setup I am using on my car. If I had deeper pockets i would have went AME with Rack and pinion and 10.5 inch front rim.

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback. I don't have an OEM sub, but I'm going to price it out and keep it in mind.

You mentioned running ABS. Matt (AME engineer) installed functional ABS in his first gen. Not sure if you have seen the recent article on his system. I'm sure he can answer any questions regarding it.
