Another 1st Gen Camaro build

Well I have decided to jump in head first on my 67 Camaro.
I was just going to replace my tired crate motor with a first gen 350 and my parts buying snowballed into a mess. I won't go into too much detail yet, but the gist is a new Currie 9" rear end, new disc brakes all around, Pro Comp tubular control arms, DSE leaf springs and sway bar, new wiring, and I think I'm going with Budnik tiller 5's. But the center piece is the '79 L48 Block. It's getting a complete rebuild with a bunch of goodies that should net me about 450hp. We start the tear down on monday and I will start posting pics probably monday night. As soon as it's out of the shop, it goes back into daily driver status. Anyway, here's a before shot to get started:

Looks like a great car to start with. Should be a fun car by the time you've finished. Seeing that picture sure makes me miss my 67. Looking forward to seeing the pictures as the build progresses.

Thanks for the replies. I know it's not a high end build like some of the other cars on this forum, but I think it's going to turn out pretty solid.

Finally got started. The front clip is off and motor is out. The inner fenders are going to be powder coated and I need to do some rust repair on the firewall, lower cowl, and radiator core support. And apparently my car was originally an SS 396. It's got the 4N fisher body code that supposedly represents the L35 SS396. Does anyone know any details on that? It might change my plans from PT to resto. Anyway here's her current state:

My work hit a snag a few months ago when my wife was diagnosed with an auto immune illness. Well I'm back on track. Fixed the rust in the cowl, got the subframe back on with aluminum bushings, got the new control arms in, and the fender wells powder coated. Still waiting for brakes and new rearend. I put the old brakes on just to mock up and take pics.











The block comes back from the machine shop today, but unfortunately I'm deploying for 6 months. All my parts should be in my garage waiting when I get back so things will go pretty quick at the end of November.
