Glink & Moser 12bolt

Last night I finished getting the G-link tacked into place and I started on rear end. The jig & instructions for welding the brackets to the rearend are for a "stock" rear end, how do I go about getting the brackets lined up on the Moser?

I took the cover off thinking it might line up which it appears to be close (but I have nothing to compare to), but the bracket sits directly over the breather hole? Can anyone help me here? I was looking at other setups on line and it appears my breather hole is in a different position that the ones online...

As many of those G-Link kits that are sold, I don't know why they don't cover the installation of the weld on lower brackets in the instructions. I installed a G-Link on a 9" and all I can tell you is that the leading edge of the lower bracket is parallel with the mount surface of the center section. On the 12 bolt that would be equivalent to lining up the leading edge of the lower bracket with the rear cover surface. One other dimension, the brackets are seperated 39" inside to inside to provide proper clearance for the sway bar.

weld the hole up and redrill it away from the bracket. It doesn't matter where it is in the axle tube as long as its in there.

I was sent a diagram by Chassisworks. It shows that the mounting brackets on a Camaro are to be 4.5* from parallel to the carrier mounting surface on a Ford 9" such that the bracket is angled slightly towards the rear of the car at the bottom (the bottom is farther back in the car than the top). The measurement is 4.0* on the Mustang version. Therefore, on the 12-bolt - the measurement would be the same, but in the opposite direction. PM me your email address and I'll send you the diagram.

Let me clarify, the measurement is referencing the bottom of the brackets and perpendicular to the carrier mount. This may differ from what I described above if the brackets are not cut at 90* at the bottom. Again, I offer the diagram for clarification.

I think you sent me a copy of that diagram and I set the lower brackets to the 4.5deg angle specified at the bottom of the bracket. When I did that, I noticed that the leading edge of the lower brackets lined up perfectly with the center section mount surface on the 9" housing. I also realized that it was easier to align the leading edge of the lower bracket with the center section mount surface than it was to maintain the 4.5deg measurement while tack welding the brackets in place. On the 12 bolt, the rear cover surface would parallel. I can tell you that once I tacked all the brackets in place and mounted the rear end housing in the car I ended up with exactly 3deg up angle on the center section mount surface. I measured these angles several times to be certian they were correct before final welding.

I can promise it wasn't me that sent you the diagram. That said, I don't doubt that this configuration ends up parallel to the mounting surface. That's just not how the drawing is referenced.

The drawing I received (apparently not from you) also referenced the 4.5deg at the bottom of the bracket. As I stated, I noticed when the 4.5deg was set up the leading edge was exactly parallel with the center section mount face. Turned out that the parallel reference was much easier to maintain while tacking the bracket in place.

if you put the rear upside down the digital protractor can sit on the bracket.

While we are talking about this. when i went to put mine on at the specified width dimension (which is nowhere to be found except in a phone call) I noticed when mocking it up you will not have enough room for the locknuts unless you collapse the anti roll bar some.

What inside dimension are you using? I'm at 37" inside to inside with the mini-tub sway bar.
