All depends on how far along you are with your car but here are a few just off the top of my head.......Be sure the battery is secure and cover the positive lead. Be sure you have no leaks. Check engine oil level and bring an extra quart, you may need it. Inspect brake fluid and brake fluid level. Inspect brake pads, rotors, and brake lines for cracks and wear. Check radiator fluid level. Be sure to have a catch can for radiator. If running road course remove radiator fluid and fill with distilled water. Overheated cars that spill radiator fluid make the course very slippery. No loose items in car or trunk. If just starting out, stock seat belts should be fine but I recommend up grading to a 5 point if running on road course. Be sure your seat is bolted down securely. Inspect tires for cracks and wear. A snell 2005 rating brain bucket is minimum requirement for most clubs.

Check the rules for the event and pay attention to the safety requirements.
