Default Flush 71

Hi my name is Brandon I have a 1971 SS Camaro, but to be exact it's a 1970 and a 1/2 being that it's an SS with a solid bumper. Anyways, there is some family history behind her, the car was my moms first car when she turned 16 back in 1981. She really wanted a mustang but thankfully being that is was more expensive my grandpa said no and she got the camaro originally it was gold with a black vinyl top. After so many years my mom got a new car and the camaro was passed on to my uncle who changed the color to blue with silver stripes and fixed her up somewhat but with hard times upon him he couldn't keep her up, so she sat in the driveway for the next however many years. My love for cars began when I was a kid always playing with my hot wheels, but when I was 12 and the first fast and the furious came out and the Charger Vin Diesel drove really sparked my desire for a muscle car. I was determined I would get one and always really liked my uncles camaro. When I was 15 my uncle started talking about selling it because he needed the money real bad so I begged pleaded and bargained with my dad to buy it for my first car. To my surprise he actually did, he bought me the car and at first said that he would let me fix it up myself and him just pay for the parts. But sadly my knowledge and skills weren't sufficient so my dad decided to take it to a local shop and pay them to do it and he let me pick out some of the stuff. Finally when it was all said and done, this is what she looked like.

As the years went on and I got a new daily she became a garage queen only driven once every couple of weeks. I lost interest in muscle and got into the drifting/hellaflush scene and had a few nissan 240sx, toyota ae86 corollas, and finally this last year I sold my 240sx putting some of the money back in savings and a $1000 towards the camaro for a new dse lowering suspension and a classic industries front lip to add a sense of hellaflush stlye to it. With a truck as my dialy and gas sky rocketing I traded in the truck for a nismo 350z and stopped working on the camaro again and went back to the hellaflush scene with the Z. A few months back I totaled my Z and got another truck, so now I've decided that I'm done screwing around with the import cars and am gonna start over with the camaro. Being that I'm 22 and don't make a lot of money yet this will be a 10 year project at best. Not a 100% on all the details of what I want for a finished project with the car so we'll she how things pan out. The only real ideas I have so far are to make a pro-touring stlyed car with a twist of the hellaflush design hence the name of the project and about 800whp. Here's a few pics I took last week of the car as it is now to start the project.

Picked up an Ls1 from an 02 corvette with only 42k miles on it for 1300

Just started tearing down the front end today to pull the 350 engine and trans out to give to my grandpa for his classic chevy truck.
Not too bad for an evening.

Hopefully I'll get some time tomorrow or next weekend to pull the engine and trans.

Welcome. Looks like a great car to start a project on. Buy yourself some masking tape though and tape up the paint edges so they don't get damaged. Your paint looks good in the pictures.
