Default which Go Pro?

So I have some money to spend at Best Buy. Unfortunately, the closest one is 3 hours away. I'm thinking about getting a Go Pro but only reading the Best Buy website leaves me a little overwhelmed as to which camera or package would be ideal for me. I was hoping someone here had a Go Pro and could let me know what they bought and how they like it. I'm just looking to be able to ride with it on the bikes and in the car when I get back to Colorado that way I can send pictures and videos back home of my trips etc.

Also, is it possible to take stills of the videos or is that something that requires editing software?

Thanks

Get the Hero with the roll bar and helmet mounts. I use the helmet mount when I'm sno-boarding and it holds very well. Vid's are great with no wind noise.

At Optima they used Replay XDs I believe. I'm thinking that's what I'll buy:

The new Go Pro HD Hero 2 seems to be the new standard as of late. Replay XD is definitely gaining popularity. Contour cameras are pretty good too. Definitely get one with an external mic input as bad sound quality is always everyones first complaint. There are some great comparison videos on YouTube that are worth watching as well.

Good luck!

GoPro HD2 Motorsport Kit with a roll bar mount. I have all 3 versions of the GoPro's and have compared them against their main competitors (ContourHD). All said and done in my mind they have no real competition right now IMO. The company is on an impressive run and they keep bring new and useful technology to the new models. It doesn't look as cool as some of the competition but when it comes to durability, function, and mounting options they rule.

You'll also want a Type 10 32GB SD card.

A spare battery or car charger which is the mini plug style like many cell phones have used.

The LCD back is nice for still photo work and checking mounting perspectives.

What about sound quality though? That link Ron posted showed how much of a difference there is in sound quality between the Relay and Go Pro. If I'm going to post a vid of me riding up to the Grand Mesa in Colorado on my Duc, I want my Duc to sound glorious not piss-anty.

I have the regular Gopro and I like it. We mounted it all over my race car and it stayed on.

GoPros are pretty tough

Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.
