Default Weird Tuning Issue - MAF related? Coolant Sensor? Stupidity?

Hey guys,

Weird issue with my base tune on my swap car and I wanted to bounce a few things off the forum to see if I haven't thought of anything.

Here's the details...

'08 LY6 with a mild cam LS3 intake and injectors, Lingenfelter 100mm MAF.

For a while it has started right up and run, but has been real fat the whole time. I have a feeling that it has something to do with the MAF as it is a monsterous piece without a screen or much of a pipe leading up to it...just getting the swap started running.

Right now though, I am struggling to keep her running or even starting it for that matter. It blackens and wets plugs with gas. Swapped out a new set of plugs and it is doing the same thing. I had the initial flash done taking into account the MAF parameters of the Lingenfelter piece but I am concerned it is just not metering properly down low. I am also concerned that I possibly have the wrong coolant sensor in the car. As stupid as this sounds, I had an aftermarket one for FAST EZ EFI (when Iw as initially using that) and an Fbody on and I may have put the wrong on in. So that could be an issue if I guessed wrong for some reason.

I will admit I have not cracked into the PCM tune yet because I let a friend borrow my laptop with the HPTuners on it and he dropped it so I am SOL right now, but like I said I had a base flash to get her running and she did run...albeit way rich. I don't want to wash out the rings with prolonged running.

I should have my laptop back this week and can do some data logging, but I am wondering if there is anything else I am not thinking of. When I say pig rich I mean WAY rich. Plug wetting goodness. If I error the MAF by unplugging in and run in speed density should that not at least tell me if the MAF is causing problems...assuming it evens out a bit?

Any help is appreciated and please be gentle, I am a newb with the FI tuning but I am a fast learner and open to suggestions!

Thanks,
Dave
