Lokar Shifter boot help.

Im needing to know any tips on installing this Lokar shifter boot and ring. Didnt know if Im to drill holes threw the boot where the ring holes are or just tuck the boot under the ring when snug, maybe over lap the boot and cut off whats past the ring.... And whats the best way to drill threw the carpet and juke with out it getting bound up on the bit or screw?

First thing I did was look for instructions by Lokar on the internet and couldn't find any.

I have called Lokar a few times about products that I've purchased and they are very helpful. Call them, tell them what you have and they will surely give you installation advice. Better than messing up a brand new part, right?

Yeah the boot didnt come with instructions, and I really didnt think about calling them.... But I will thanks for the Tip!

Dont know if it helps but I am using the lokar billet ring but had a boot made and didn't use theirs -- I drilled through the boot.

[RECOVERY ROOM]

Put your ring in place then take a very sharp drill bit and push hard to drill holes thru floor,

place boot over shifter and get it at the look you want ( short or Tall )

place ring over edge of boot an use a hole finder (awl, scatch awl, pick ) to locate holes

run screws thru holes, If there is material showing around ring carefully trim with a blade.

stand back and admire your work

Glad to help, I only check in you guys every couple days to see these type of questions, So if im slow to help with a answer, You know why

On my lokar boot I notched the boot around the screw holes and then using contact cement glued the boot to the underside of the ring. Doesn't move around even when I take it off.
