Default Your help please... suggestions for a pro-touring convertible

My wife said we can start on a 2nd pro-touring car

My first pro-touring project is under way and almost finished - the '70 Charger called Punishment. https://lateral-g.net/forums/show...ght=punishment

The first requirement for the new project is that it has to be convertible. I don't personally like convertible cars that much, I think the lines get all messed up when you get them in the convertible style. But that's what she wants

The second is that it is somewhat sporty. I don't think we want a big Chevy or Cuda that just gets turned into a convertible, I think we want a sportier car. Maybe a Vette but she doesn't dig those too much. Or maybe a Porsche 356 but I feel like those are a little too popular. We don't want a kit car. We want an old car that we can bring into the modern age.

I was thinking we might even get the motor and such from a Tesla and make the whole project electric.

Anyway, any suggestions for the perfect sporty, convertible that can be made pro-touring? Your help is appreciated!

Small or mid-sized is probably better, I agree. Keep the ideas coming!

How about a T-bird or a '50s 190SL? Those would be towards the top of my list for convertibles, no body ever modifies those, and it would be so cool to have a classy cruiser with some new suspension under it!

Don't be a ***** and just buy your wife one of these like I did....

I'm kidding of course --- I'd also bought her a 1970 MBZ 280SL --- it's a horrible little car -- but cute! Would make a killer car with some suspension and some power!
