Default Roadster Shop or Detroit Speed

I'm doing a coyote conversion for my 70 mustang and have decided to either go with the Roadster shop or Detroit Speed front suspension. They seem very similar, but the Roadster Shop is $1500 cheaper. Is the Detroit Speed worth the extra $1500 or should I go with the Roadster Shop. Thanks.

That's a real tough question to answer without some additional information. Such as what are your plans for the car, is it a driver or a race car or both. Being a convertible I would think you are just cruising it but I could be wrong. Either way they both make great products and their products are both proven on the track to work excellent.

The car is going to be a daily driver street car. The car isn't a convertible, it's a fastback.

I personally went Dse , due to weight, ease of install, oem replacement parts and didn't have to pay extra for ford pattern. RS stuff is really nice and seriously considered it. The question you should be asking yourself is will the coyote fit in the RS setup with little to no extra mods? You know it will fit the Dse.

Call both companies. Tell them what you are doing. See how they respond.
It's a lot of cash you are about to spend. A few minutes on the phone will probably sway you to one or the other.

My answer is, both being great products and as far as one being better than the other would be a matter of personal opinion. Unless someone has owned both chassis's for a die hard comparison, I don't thing you can go wrong choosing either. If RS saves you $1500 with no extra cost for the Coyote mounts, etc., buy the RS and use the $1500 elsewhere on your cars restoration process.

We can set up for the Coyote motor with no issues at all. Both the subframe system and the crossmember are designed with the same suspension geometry however I recommend you do a close inspection of your front sub rails. The Mustangs are prone to rot in that area. Our subframe system replaces the OE subrails all together and ties into the OE torque box location simplifying installation and reinforcing the front even further. If your OE rails are in good shape and you are only planning on some track and autocross abuse with alot of street miles, the front crossmember will suit you perfectly.

Here is the crossmember only with optional strut tower panels.

I'd go with Roadster simply because you are getting a system from a manufacture rather than a hype fueled brand.
