Default Camaro Headlight/wiper switch ground plate

Ok, putting the rest of my switches in yesterday and cant get them to work properly on my DSE dash. Using a 67-68 wiper switch, but it does not work at all...Using existing light switch but have no dimmer control but they do light up everything, dash lights, head lights, etc..

So I got to thinking when I took the dash apart there was this plate "Camaro Headlight/wiper switch ground plate"...Now I m figuring it out why they don't work.

So my question is what do I do now to get them to work? Can I just run a separate wire to each switch like the plate to ground it? The way they are drilled are probably too for apart for the existing part to work..

Any help would be appreciated..
