Default Insurance for high end custom?

Hey all,

I've got a client that I'm just wrapping up a high end rebuild on a 70 Chevelle. He has been using Haggerty but now that the rebuild on his car is complete he is trying to up his policy and they won't insure anything over 700hp for street use.
He tried the "show car" approach but we are going to be driving it 1500 miles back to where he lives here in a few weeks so they wouldn't bite.

Who else handles high end customs?

Thanks!

I have all of my cars insured thru MK insurance in Elmhurst,Il.also they do agreed value policies. I have 3 cars with over 700 hp and you can pick 1000,3000 or 5000 mile options. Greg

All insurance company's are the same. They're all wonderful until you have make a claim.
Jay,

They had a pretty detailed spec sheet I had to fill out for him and that was one of the questions. The vehicle had been insured with them previously as a mild restomod but now that he is upping the policy they are asking more questions...

Honestly I've never heard of Haggerty or any of the high end insurers caring about HP level but I'm sure they are just mitigating their liability. 700hp isn't much by today's standards though... you can hit that with a new ZR1 with a couple bolt ons..

-Sean

And to make an insurance thread more interesting...

Grundy was fantastic when I made a pretty big claim...let me do upgraded parts and didn't hesitate when I had to add to the claim 5 months later when another related issue was found.

As for honesty on the forms.... IF they catch you...they will use that to deny any claim...so be careful
