Accelerating is optional...........stopping is mandatory. Your car WILL stop one way or another.

This good news is GW avoids gold cars like the plague.

The car can be fixed, glad Vic is alright and should heal.

I took these right after the accident when they got the poor thing outside.

Sad... and I hope Vic has a full recovery!

I don't believe it's right to take pics of gold cars.

Sadly -- that was about what the rest of the AMBR cars looked like this year. Don't even get me started.... The competition was let's say "less than stellar".

Wes Rydell won and it should have based on the overall quality and detail... but it reminded me of a car that Mister Magoo would drive.

Greg,

I had read that.

Also saw pics of the contenders (not impressed) and wanted to hear your opinion as well.

Man, that is horrible. Makes me cringe.
Glad to hear that one of the judges is doing better.

Greg,

As an avid hot rodder I follow the GNRS as well as many other big events pretty closely. Lots of internet chatter about stuck throttle, or the driver hit the wrong pedal. Being there, did you hear anything more concrete than that? Glad to hear Vic will be ok. I hope the driver isn't hurt either. The car is repairable....tough deal overall.

Glenn -- People were making excuses for the driver and saying perhaps it was a stuck throttle. The driver said he hit the throttle and the car lurched forward he thought he went for the brake but "may have" hit the throttle again.

It's a BLOWN Hemi --- in a tiny car -- you know a "lurch" could be violent -- after that - anything can happen real quick. I don't know if anyone will really know because I don't know the driver would really know what happened it happened so fast.

If the throttle stuck --- there would have been black tire marks where he hit the door and the motor would still be going. I didn't see any rubber marks...
