Default Ridetech E3 controller help needed

I finished my build and tried to reprogram the Ridetech e3 controller set up i had set from a year ago for test purposes. When I try to reprogram the presets it asks me to press one for yes. I reply yes by pressing 1 key and or holding 1 key but it doesn't work . I Tried reprogramming preset two by holding it down. It said it was saved but when i go back to settings it is the old setting. I went to change the preset two working on key start up and it get goes back to off after I change it to on.

I unplugged main brain for an hour and it is still has old settings. Any tips? I need to reset the brain but it appears to be holding memory even with main connection unplugged.

Did you unplug the USB cable at the controller or the weather pack connection at the compressor? Unplugging the connection at the ECU/compressor reset the system for me. I have the AirPod so it's the main connection on the left of the tank.

Call Ridetech and they will walk you through troubleshooting. They are more than helpful.

One other thing you can check in the setup menu is the voltage level. If you aren't reading a consistant 12-13 volts it can cause problems with the head unit. Could be a bad ground or loose connection.

Seems you need to figure out how to totally clear or reset the head unit and reprogram from scratch.

I'm guessing calibration has been completed?
If so resetting the presets is as easy as setting your radio.
Set the height where you want. Press and hold the preset button till it tells you the preset has been saved.

Removing power will not remove programming.

Depending on software version it may take a few activations before it hits the preset dead on. This is due to the auto learning of the system (like fuel injection).

What software version do you have?
Do you have level sensors?
What were your old presets?
What are your new presets?

Just trying to get a little more info to help you sort this out.

Calibration should not be completed until the car is do e, but we can work with it from here. It just takes a little more time for it to relearn the car. (Like changing to bigger injectors on a fuel injected motor. It'll run , just not great right away.)

display v- 13.0302
ecu v- 13.0302141

No auto level sensors

i didn't calibrate as i thought that was for auto level sensors

learned how to set ride height after speaking to ridetech yesterday. Have the proper air setting i want around 90psi or so after measuring all 4 corners at fully inflated and fully deflated height (set in the middle of those two). Preset 2 was previously set at 115 at all 4 corners. i want to change it to around 90psi or so.

press and hold #2 after setting them around 90psi. it confirms that preset 2 was saved. Go back to #2 setting and it is still at 115.

Thought I would try to repgrogram, when i went to that setting it asked me to confirm, i pressed 1 button for yes but it doesn't acknowledge me pressing button 1. Same with pressing button 3 to confirm no. It just sits there waiting for me to answer yes or no even though i keep pressing all buttons. Won't let me exit either. As if it is frozen like on a computer screen when you can't exit.

I also tried to change the "level on start" from off to on. I changes to on but when i come back to it, it changed back to off.

You must calibrate regardless of air only or air and level.
Presets and whatnot do not work until you calibrate as there is no data to run from.

Run calibration with the car running and let me know how you do.

i went to manual and followed directions below that i copied here-

start vehicle- check
allow compressor to fill tank- check
press preset #3- there were already settings there around 100 or less psi. when i touch preset number 3 it adjusts to that height based on preset pressure readings. When i hold it for awhile it saves whatever pressure i am sitting at.

I didn't get any further then #3 in the calibration process. I didn't have option in picture of press 3 to start set up and or see start up required. It assumed i wanted to either go to preset 3 and or save preset 3. no set up options as further described in the calibration steps for no level sensors.

Calibration Steps: (items in red require user interface, other steps are automatically completed)
These steps will require the car to be running to ensure full battery voltage!
1. Start the vehicle
2. Allow the compressor/compressors to fi ll the tank ( They will shut off @ 150psi )
3. Press preset # 3 to start calibration.
4. Release all air - this provides a solid starting point for the Calibration sequence
5. Locating tank pressure sensor - locates and checks the tank sensor
6. Locating air spring pressure sensors - locates and checks the air spring pressure sensors
7. User must set Preset #2 - allows the user to set the Ride Height ( This can be changed later )
8. Check vehicle speed to and from Preset #2 - the e3 will utilize this information to achieve Ride Height in the fewest possible steps using the
most intelligent method.
9. Determines vehicle speed from lowered height to Preset #2 - the e3 will utilize this information to achieve Ride Height in the fewest
possible steps using the most intelligent method
10. Defl ates down to Preset #1 - tests the system for defl ating to Preset #1
11. Uses Calibration data to travel to Preset #2 - tests the system for infl ating to Preset #2
12. Calibration complete

If you do not have "setup required" on the main screen you have already gone through calibration.

Now, set the presets where you want by moving the vehicle to the desired height and pressure (make sure you deflate to the preset. DO NOT inflate to the preset. It works a lot better this way) then press and hold the desired preset button until the display states "preset X saved".

Let me know how you get on.

that brings us back to where i started. I have deflated to the setting i want, hold #2 for awhile until it says Preset #2 saved. Problem is when I then go to test preset 2 it is back to old pressure setting. View preset settings, back to old settings.

It won't hold my presets it is confirming where just saved.

It won't hold "level on start" either. Switch it from off to on. goes back to off as soon as i scan down choices and come back up to that setting.

I have tested this about 7-8 times on both and even though it changes, it goes right back to old setting not the new ones it confirmed a moment earlier.

Check the wiring.
Small red goes direct to battery.
Small yellow goes to switched ignition.

Sounds to me like you have them reversed or tied together.

When auto level on start will not stay on it tells me the red wire is not maintaining constant power.
