Default Help a brotha out!

Fellow gear head and friend Martin Pond has a chance to get to SEMA and compete in the OUSCI. He's attended Laguna, Fontana and Portland placing well at all of the events. Martin won the Spirit of the Event award at Laguna and secured his spot for some SEMA action.....now he just needs a lil help.

Those of you that actually compete know what a big deal this is, a shot to run in Vegas with some of the best in the country! A blown motor and some clutch issues has eatin some of the cash from the cookie jar. He's started a "GoFundMe" deal and if I did it right this is the link.

I attended in 2011 with a buddies Charger, first time at SEMA and first time seeing one of these events. Even though I don't remember Thursday or Friday night I had a blast and met a great group of people----FYI he doesn't drink, so you won't be helping him party.

Why am I posting this? Not only is he the underdog and the kind of person these events are for, he jumped in and tried to help us in Portland. Car was on the trailer and we had given up, he jumped right in, found a few things and got us back out on the road course.....we only made a few laps before deciding it was something more serious but that's not the point!

Help a fellow gear head live the dream!

Dan

Martin was in my ill-fated pit row at Laguna Seca a couple weekends ago. There was some nasty carnage among us, but it looks like I got off the easiest, with only an alternator and a hose going out (as far as I know--I haven't even started the car since).

Getting back to Martin, several of us had fun ironically discussing the other Fairmont, the brown wagon, and someone referred to it as the ****box; Martin's silver car was on the trailer before mine was. Given the damage to the silver Fairmont, Martin's attitude was great. Actually, everybody whose car was trashed had a great attitude at Laguna--it was like bizarro world or something...

I wish Martin the best of luck in getting to Las Vegas. I get the sense he'll succeed.

For those who don't know, check the link to see Martin's silver Fairmont in action at Laguna Seca:http://www.gotbluemilk.com/web140921...es/image3.html.
