Default Holley Hi-Ram Intake Availability Help, Supporting Vendors Inside

Ordered Holley #300-116BK back in December and I just got an updated notice yesterday from holley saying it's estimated ETA is now early April. Originally it was an early January ETA, pushed back to End of Feb, and now April....Rediculous!

http://www.jegs.com/i/Holley/510/300...FZSCaQodthoA_Q

Holley claims intakes are available but the coating process is holding up there availability of the black coated versions. Does anyone have one on a shelf they would be willing to sell by chance? This has me at a stand still with my project and I need to get things moving forward.

Thanks in advance for any help/leads

Just buy the uncoated one and have your local powder coater coat it.

Mainly an added cost issue and the fact that the new coating won't match there black valve covers that are already installed. Just hoping someone has one on a shelf or changed directions on a project and I can buy off of them.

Personally, I would get an uncoated one and then have it done locally. Looks like Holley has the castings coated and then does the machining. This is OK, but if you really want a custom look, I would have a bare machined intake blasted and even out the texture on some of the machined surfaces, then have the whole thing coated except for the critical mating surfaces.

I did just that with my Hi-Ram and will be getting it hard anodized later this week.

Here is the top that was media blasted to even out the texture:

Personally, I wouldn't care if the finish wasn't exactly the same as the valve covers, chances are it's not a perfect match anyway. You don't necessarily want everything to be "matchy matchy."

Here is the Hi-Ram base that's been blasted and will get hard anodized today or tomorrow.

Here is the hard anodized Hi-Ram, in case anyone is interested.

Hard anodizing can also be done in a matte black (think AR-15 lower receiver).
