Default shelby cobra style frame

I am looking at putting a full frame underneath an early nova. I was looking at the maxg frame, but went to a cobra show over the weekend and really liked the birdcage style frames they use. Factory five was there with one of their cars without the skin, and the structure was really impressive. Has anyone ever tried to build a backbone style frame? I realize it would be a lot of work, and you would probably have to attach the two rails to the body and build the rest of the structure around the car, but it should be very stiff. I was thinking that I could even start with one of morrison’s straight rail frames for suspension points and then build around it.

Anybody have any any experience with something similar?
