Default Engine plates

So, I've got a question about engine plates... Unfortunatley I don't any history on this truck other than the guy I got it from got it from a guy who owed him money and he got it from someone else.. Well, some hacked out the old mounts and F'd the frame... My question is should I repair it or, just go to motor plates?? My question about plates is. isn't the motor suppose to sit on a 3 degree angle??? If you run plates the engine stis straight and throws off the angle of the driveshaft??

I apologize for not being able to offer any insight into this matter, but I am also curious about the use of motor plates.

I would imagine that you can sent the plates at a slight rearward decline, to satisfy the driveshaft angle. But if you have a motor plate in front, then don't you also need one for the back of the engine, as well? Does the rear plate require spacers for the transmission?

I don't know, hopefully someone will chime in with some solid knowledge.

As stated above, you can set the engine at any angle you want with the plates. It's all up to you, lol.

As for the rear, they usually just use an ear that bolts on behind the bellhousing, instead of between the bellhousing and the engine.
