Default Dse Quadra Link Question

We just finished installing the Quadra Link in the back of my 69 Convertible.

While fitting the lower link arms I discovered that in order to make them fit on the pass side, I had to tighten the adjustment on the arm until NO threads were showing. On the driver side they went in w/out any adjustment.

My brackets were welded on a brand new 9inch by DSE prior to shipping and as you know the lower link arms going in the factory front Leaf pockets.

The upper arms are the same story. Driver went in w/out adjustment, pass side had to be tightened until threads weren't showing.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is there supposed to be a difference between the sides? I would think not, since I have no adjustability on the pass side.

If it isn't supposed to be that way, then the only thing I can think of is that my floor is messed up. Crazy thing is: it's a brand new Dynacorn body.

I plan on calling DSE, I just thought I would ask if anyone else had this issue.

are you sure the rear end housing is square in the car?? you will need to datum to measure off then drop a plumb bob off axle centerline and measure each side forward or back to the datum.

Make sure the rear end is square in the car like Jake said above. Then start measuring the body itself. The fact that it's a Dynacorn may be the key to what is going on. Because it's new doesn't not mean it is welded in square and correctly.

I am assuming that there SHOULD be some adjustment on the passenger side link arms , right?

Check on square. Rear is square left-right and forward-back. I ordered the rear housing from DSE, had them narrow it and weld brackets using their in-house Jig. I need to measure overall length and see if brackets were welded on at same location on each end. I seriously doubt it was an error on DSE's part considering the number of customers that order the rears with the brackets welded on by DSE using their Jig.

I suspect the body is the issue. I have fitment issues with the passenger door and the deck lid. I was hoping it was some lazy employee at C.A.R.S. who hung the pass quarter, but now I am thinking it is something worse. I was led to believe they welded the bodies with a Jig.

I have complained about the fitment issues. I told them I will get back with them once I get the sub under ther car and can see how the rest of the metal fits.

When a company tells you they weld stuff on a fixture, that may or may not mean anything. Designing and building fixtures (GOOD fixtures) is one of the hardest parts of fabrication and manufacturing. Many times the fixtures are more complex and costly than the individual parts that are made on them.

Dynacorn or whoever assembled the body may have built the body in a jig. Who is to say that their jig is square? Or if they put the nut plates in the correct location for the spring perch?

Y'all are right, I don't know if C.A.R.S. built their Jig properly. I wouldn't think HOT ROD would go into a partnership with them to make a bunch of HOT ROD licensed turn key Camaros if they were sloppy. I have been documenting the issues I have had with the body and once I get the sub under it, with front sheetmetal I will have the full story. At that point we will see if they stand behind their product.

Did you measure or compare the link lengths L to R?

Have you even started simple, throw some wheels on the axle and see how they sit in relation to the body?

If anything I would look more at the re-pro body and see how things are aligned. Not even taking the mfg's into account, it's a lot easier to screw up a spring mount on a uni-body than it is to misalign laser cut brackets on an axle tube.
